How Does This Ayurvedic Recipe Improve Wellness?

CLINICAL AYURVEDIC REVIEW

Almond Coconut Fudge is an elegant and creamy treat. Rich almond and sweet coconut present themselves first with their smooth, alluring tones. Sea-salty notes and gently pungent ginger entice you with their promise of depth and excitement. As it melts in your mouth, you'll notice that nourishing coconut oil soothes cravings as deep as the very cells of your body. Close your eyes. Imagine yourself on a warm beach, salt and coconut in the air. Almond Coconut Fudge is like a five minute vacation, revitalizing you to your core.

Healthy Fats for Fall

In the fall, your body craves oily foods as it builds a layer of insulating fats for winter protection. Depleted Vata types need heartier foods in the fall, and may feel an irresistible urge for fats and sweet treats. It's important to give your body healthy fats at this time, which will nourish and calm your nervous system, protect your body from colds and flus later in the season, and provide the fuel you'll need to keep yourself warm.

Boost Your Metabolism

Almond Coconut Fudge isn't only a delicate blend of sweet and savory, proteins and carbs, it is also specially formulated to keep your metabolism strong. Cinnamon and ginger not only stimulate digestion and improve absorption, they also stimulate your "agni" - your body's natural umphh to keep your energy levels strong. Plus, cinnamon helps to regulate the blood sugar levels.

Freedom to Choose What You Eat

Processed foods often contain three times the amount of sugars and fats your body needs to feel satisfied. This completely natural, whole food is a simple, safe sweet treat to abate unruly food cravings. Homemade desserts give you the freedom to choose how much sugar, fats and salts you eat. Few homemade desserts offer the simplicity and elegance of Almond Coconut Fudge. It's easy to make. In less than a minute, you could be enjoying pure decadence.

A Sweet Treat with No Fear of Binging

Luxuriate in a hunk of creamy, mouth-watering Almond Coconut Fudge next time you're looking for a hearty treat to hold your appetite. Rich, yet balanced with healthy fats, fiber, and protein, Almond Coconut Fudge promises more than empty carbs, it fills your inner emptiness - satisfying a cellular hunger.

Your appestat is the natural appetite limiting signals your body uses to help you control your portions. Natural whole foods won't circumvent your "appestat" like many processed foods. Plus, fiber in Almond Coconut Fudge is heartier and holds your appetite longer than empty carbs. The fiber provides a more authentic fullness in the tummy. So often, sugar cravings are protein cravings in disguise. Almond Coconut Fudge is a high protein treat that gives your body what it truly needs.

Increases These Biocharacteristics (Gunas)

Functional Ayurveda helps you assess imbalances through 20 main biocharacteristics (gunas). Aggravating these characteristics weakens your body and causes imbalance. By knowing which characteristics are habitually imbalanced in your body, you will be able to identify and correct imbalances before you get sick. Every characteristic has an opposite which balances it (i.e. hot balances cold). You restore balance by favoring diet and lifestyle choices that increase the opposite characteristic.

DOSHAS
Dosha Help

The Three Doshas / Body Types

According to the biocharacteristic theory of medicine, people tend to get sick, over and over again, due to habitual causes and imbalances that are unique to the person. Your body type summarizes this tendency, showing you the 'type' of conditions and imbalances that frequently challenge your health & wellness. Using body type, you can also identify remedies likely to improve your strength and resiliency. Your body type identifies physical and mental characteristics as well as your personal strengths and weaknesses. The calculation of your body type is based on your medical history.

The 3 functional body types (doshas), are Catabolic (Vata), Metabolic (Pitta), and Anabolic (Kapha). Catabolic individuals tend to break down body mass into energy. They are easily stimulated, hyperactive, underweight and dry. Metabolic individuals tend to burn or use energy. They tend to be rosy-cheeked, easily irritated, focused, driven, and easily inflamed. Anabolic individuals tend to store energy as body mass. If they store too much energy, they could gain weight easily and have congestion. Anabolic people tend to be stable and grounded.

Although it's still high summer here in Netherlands, this treat sounded good to me. And mjummie! I didn't have almond butter, so I grinded some almonds as fine as possible. Mixed that with the dry spices first. I used more ginger and added some carob powder. Then put in the honey and oil. The batter could be formed into nice balls, which I put in the fridge for an hour. Mjummie again! Next time I'll add some orange zest too, think that will be even more delicious. A good complement to my Ayurvedic recipies I use for my cooking workshops. Thanks.

Use ground cacao to your personal taste.
A very tasty, dessert/snack. Definitely has simplicity and elegance in this mix. Sure cuts down on the cooking time - just mix well in a small bowl, pour in pan and refrigerate. Thanks very much for this recipe!

If you cannot buy almond butter in Europe you can use your blender. You need a powerful blender and just keep blending the almonds until they turn into almond butter. So easy to do.

Doubled the ingredients, added dessicated coconut and made 45 small balls. Dusted some in cocoa, some in ground ginger and some in cinnamon (my personal fave). I ate four before they even got to the fridge! Oh, I should add that in the absence of almond butter I just whizzed 250g almonds in the magimix, using the S blade. Took about 10 mins for it to firm into a paste.
