Stools are formed in the colon as the colon extracts liquid from the digested food, forming solid pieces which are then eliminated. Stools can be assessed by consistency, color, smell, quantity, and frequency of elimination. Stools should also be checked for blood, mucus, and parasites.
The longer stools sit in your gut, the more they ferment and rot in the steamy, balmy environment of your intestines. Regular elimination prevents toxins from these rotting stools entering your blood stream. Adequate fats, fluids, fiber, salty and sour tastes encourages regular elimination. Avoid foods that cause gas, which disrupts your natural elimination cycle. A healthy routine encourages regular elimination. READ MORE ON THIS TOPIC
