By August, your body is preparing for fall and using all available energy to build an insulating layer of fat before the temperatures plummet mid October. Meanwhile, sweating under the hot midday sun depletes electrolytes. The result is that your blood will be depleted of sugars, fats, fluids and electrolytes throughout August and September. Since the liver is responsible for stabilizing blood sugar levels, and the kidneys maintain electrolyte balance, this condition is called 'Vata in the liver and kidneys'. Anxiety, insomnia, and spaciness ensue. Your body will be vulnerable to any overexertion. Dehydration leaves your prone to indigestion.
